Posted by a1291762 in : Uncategorized , add a commentBree is pregnant and due in November. She has 1 assignment to go before finishing her Master of Special Education (due 2 days before the baby!).
Emily is moving to Saturday swimming classes. She’s got the idea and is quite enthusiastic but doesn’t really go anywhere. She just thrashes around making lots of splashes. At least she seems pleased with herself.
I’m still at Trolltech working on Qtopia. It feels like so much has happened in the last year but you wouldn’t know from the non-boring things I can tell you.

poweralerter September 1, 2005
Posted by a1291762 in : Uncategorized , add a commentpoweralerter is a low power alerter for Qtopia. Unlike the built-in one it uses noise and vibration to alert you and you can select an alert tone to use.
It compiles against Qtopia 4.1 and 4.2 but not all features work with 4.2.
You can get it here.
To use it, you need the server to call it. Apply this patch to Qtopia 4.1.7 (for other versions, it won’t apply so you’ll have to do it manually).
To have the previously-selected alert pre-selected for you, you’ll need to fix QDocumentSelector (which doesn’t have a setSelectedDocument method). Apply this patch to Qtopia 4.1.7 (for other versions, it won’t apply so you’ll have to do it manually).

Posted by a1291762 in : Uncategorized , add a commentIn the absence of konsole, it’s hard to check things out on the Greenphone. This app can be used with the CPU tab in sysinfo (you need to tweak and recompile sysinfo to get it back) for diagnostic purposes. For instance, I used this to determine that it’s the server (qpe) that chews up the CPU after sleeping and waking a few times. Originally I’d thought it was the networking scripts because the load goes away once you plug the USB cable in.
You cat get it here.

It compiles against Qtopia 4.1 and 4.2 but not all features work with 4.2.
