Switching browsers

I recently switched from Safari to Firefox at home. Firefox is my preferred browser on Windows and Linux and these days it is integrated with Mac OS well enough for me to be happy with it. Most importantly, it brings me to feature parity with the other platforms I use. Extensions are primarily what made me switch.

I have tried just about every browser I could get my hands on. Everything from iCab to Omniweb, Webkit-based browsers and Gecko-based browsers. Of all of them, only Camino could possibly tempt me and in fact I did use Camino back before Firefox had a decent Mac version and especially before Safari existed.

I tried and liked opera back when it was an MDI app that could fit on a single floppy disk. These days though it’s a hulking monstrosity that doesn’t manage to look, feel or work like any of the platforms that it runs on.
